Greater Manchester Police, in partnership with local agencies, continues to deliver Operation Baffle — a dedicated initiative targeting individuals involved in knife crime and serious violence in the Crumpsall and Cheetham areas.

This long-running operation involves both uniformed and covert officers working tirelessly to identify and disrupt those causing the greatest harm in our communities.

✅ Key Results to Date:

36 arrests made, with many suspects under active investigation

2 offenders sentenced to multiple years in prison - to date

22 weapons and 51 drug items seized

36 positive stop-searches conducted

71 intelligence submissions received

32 weapon sweeps carried out

8 vehicles and 13 phones seized

These outcomes reflect our ongoing commitment to making our streets safer. Every week, additional officers are deployed to proactively identify and engage with those suspected of carrying weapons or engaging in criminal activity.

We recognise the concern that knife crime causes and want to reassure residents that we are listening, responding, and taking action. While progress has been made, we know there is more to do — and Operation Baffle will continue to evolve and intensify in the weeks ahead.
